The TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) continues its commitment to advancing military nursing through evidence-based practice and operational research with two vital funding opportunities now open for FY25: the High Priority Awards and the Mini Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Project Funding. These opportunities are designed to support nurse researchers and clinical leaders in addressing critical issues across military healthcare settings, ultimately enhancing readiness, resilience, and patient outcomes.
FY25 High Priority Awards – Up to $500,000: The High Priority Awards are available on a rolling basis while funds remain, with applications accepted until August 29, 2025 at 1700 EDT. Each award offers up to $500,000 to support operational military nursing research or evidence-based practice projects that align with TSNRP’s strategic priorities.
Key focus areas include:
- Workload Models in Deployed Settings:Investigating new methods to assess and manage nursing workload in high-stress environments such as battlefields, disaster zones, and military hospitals.
- Expectant Casualty Care: Developing strategies to improve care for casualties in anticipation of delayed evacuation or limited resources.
- Transition from Battlefield to Regular Duty: Supporting nurses as they reintegrate from combat or austere settings into traditional clinical roles.
- Austere Environment Readiness: Exploring innovative training and care delivery models for environments with limited medical infrastructure
Importantly, TSNRP principal investigators may hold up to two concurrent High Priority Awards, allowing for broader impact across research domains. No letter of intent (LOI) is required to apply. Interested applicants should visit the TSNRP Grants Database and click on “View Announcements and Forms,” then locate the FY25 High Priority Award FOA for full details.
FY25 Mini EBP Project Funding – Rolling Through August 30, 2025: For military nurses focused on improving care through evidence-based practice, the Mini EBP Project Funding presents a valuable opportunity. These awards are intended to support nurse-led projects by providing funding for essential equipment, training, and supplies that align with TSNRP’s operational and clinical goals.
Eligible project focus areas include:
- Force Health Protection
- Nursing Competencies & Practices
- Leadership, Mentoring, and Ethics
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until August 30, 2025 or until funds are depleted. However, prospective applicants should note a key requirement:a consultation with a TSNRP EBP Facilitator is mandatory before submission. Additionally, projects that are part of graduate degree requirements are not eligible for funding.
